Please join RCTLE as we welcome Dr. Juliet Cassidy-Floyd to our team! Juliet is the newest Faculty Development Instructor for your RCTLE. She is a native of Jacksonville, FL, and has been active in public school districts for over fifteen years. She has vast experience as an educator, holding various positions including teacher, department head, faculty chair, and adjunct English instructor.
A life-long learner, Juliet has a B.A., in English Literature, an M.S., in Educational Psychology, and a Ph.D., in Education. Juliet is passionate about education and looks forward to engaging with the ERAU-W faculty. Juliet and her husband have 5 adult children, 3 dogs, and a chicken. They are looking forward to moving their empty nest to Daytona and putting their feet in the sand.
Virtually attend the 2018 Online Learning Consortium Conference!
Your RCTLE and the Department of Online Education have teamed up to bring you the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) – Innovate Conference!
This 3-day event runs from April 18-20, 2018; on each day, you can choose to virtually attend sessions from a variety of online teaching and learning experts. There are over 100 streamed sessions to choose from!

April EV-Anar: Personalizing the Online Learning Experience
Instructor presence personalizes the online learning experience and is correlated with student success and satisfaction. This EV-Anar will discuss strategies appropriate for four different learner profiles in order to establish two components of instructor presence: persona and social presence. Providing feedback is an important part of the teaching and learning experience. Using audio or video feedback on assignments is a great way to connect with students and can save you time while you’re grading. It’s also a great way to show a personal presence in your class. Audio or video feedback can be especially helpful if a student receives a grade that they weren’t expecting. Hearing your voice, that you are concerned about their progress, and an encouraging tone can “soften” the news of the grade they received.
