Happy 4th of July from your neighborhood RCTLE! This month, we are announcing an exciting new resource and providing opportunities for you to discuss the importance of effective feedback, reflect on your own practice, and share your feedback practice strategies!

Great new resources on providing effective feedback!

We have added several new great videos on providing your students with feedback for your viewing pleasure. 20-minute mentors are video-based programs designed to answer specific questions related to teaching and learning.

So, this month, instead of offering an EV-Anar, we encourage you to spend 20 minutes checking out one (or more) of these videos. Then, come chat with us and your colleagues in an open forum about providing feedback in the RCTLE EagleVision Room July 25th @ 11 AND/OR pop into the discussion on the RCTLE Resource Site (note: became the RCTLE eUnion in 2020).

Each year, RCTLE sends out a survey to all of our faculty. This is an opportunity for you to give us feedback on how we’re doing! This survey will be sent in a few weeks, so be sure to check your ERAU email!

ALSO….

Did you know that RCTLE can provide you with a record of the RCTLE face-to-face sessions that you’ve attended in the last academic year? If you would like a record of the RCTLE events that you’ve attended, please feel free to request this information by emailing us at rctle@erau.edu.

Article of the Month: Read more about gathering feedback!

Recently, an article entitled Faculty Focus: Taking the Class Temperature, Cognitive and Affective Feedback, was published in Faculty Focus. This article discusses how we can gauge whether or not our students are “getting it.” It also provides three strategies (Frequency, Form, and Function) that can be used to evaluate how feedback is gathered.

Be sure to read more about these strategies and learn how you can incorporate them into your teaching!
